Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry

A full-time faculty position is available in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Assistant Professor level for a clinical researcher studying ADHD and ASD. The candidate must possess a Ph.D. in clinical psychology, with formal training and/or demonstrated expertise in both ADHD and ASD required. Applicants must also have a clinical license in psychology or be license-eligible in the state of California and have demonstrated expertise in diagnosis and assessment of infants, children, and adolescents. Preferred additional qualifications include an established program of research on young children with or at risk for psychopathology or neurodevelopmental disorders, experience with infant sibling experimental designs, and expertise in methods used in early detection research.

The individual selected for the position will be expected to build a successful, independent research program and demonstrate excellence in clinical service and teaching. Specific responsibilities include: 1) developing methods for early detection of ADHD and ASD, 2) successfully competing for extramural funding to examine the very early behavioral phenotypes of ADHD and ASD, and 3) clinical services or teaching responsibilities related to academic series. Additional responsibilities include interdisciplinary collaborations with faculty from diverse backgrounds and participation in large-scale, team science initiatives.
