Position description

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of California, Davis Health seeks to recruit a full-time Maternal Fetal Medicine faculty member in the Health Sciences Clinical (HSCP) series at the Assistant, Associate, Full Professor rank in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Faculty in the HSCP series are expected to engage in teaching, demonstrate professional competence and activity, scholarly or creative work, and University and public service.

EXPECTATIONS
The successful candidate will be expected to contribute with distinction in the areas of clinical care, teaching mentoring of medical trainees, scholarly and/or creative activities, and University and public service. The successful candidate must have the ability to foster collegiality and work collaboratively in a diverse environment and must have the ability to adhere to University policies and procedures. Specific core duties, functions and responsibilities will include:
• Providing direct outpatient clinical care in all aspects of family medicine, across the patient age spectrum.
• Providing inpatient care for adult and pediatric hospital patients, and/or providing inpatient care for obstetrical patients.
• Teaching and supervision of residents and medical students providing clinical care in the inpatient and outpatient settings, and in didactic sessions.
• Participating in clinical care quality monitoring and improvement efforts.
• Providing service to Department, School, and other (e.g., University, professional society, community) committees

Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

Possess an MD or DO from an accredited medical school
Possess or be eligible to obtain a California Medical License
Board certified or eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology
Be completing or completed an accredited fellowship
Board certified or board eligible in Maternal Fetal Medicine.
Clinical experience in hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, complications associated with preterm birth, prenatal diagnosis, ultrasound, and genetics, demonstrated clinical skills and judgment, teaching effectiveness and proficiency in clinical investigation or basic science research

Applicants must have the ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment and be able to adhere to policies and procedures.

Preferred qualifications (other preferred, but not required, qualifications for the position)

Fetal intervention and advanced fetal ultrasonography, including fetal echocardiogram, amniocentesis, chorionic villi sampling and intrafetal potassium chloride injections.
Individuals with specialized interest in prenatal diagnosis, medical genetics, fetal surgery and ultrasound. Experience in clinical operations or service line leadership.
Formal training or experience in quality improvement or patient safety. Prior involvement in EMR optimization or order set design.
