The University of California, Davis Medical Center’s Department of Surgery, Division of General Surgery, is seeking a full-time colorectal surgeon at the University of California; Davis Medical Center who will serve as section Chief of the Colorectal Surgery Programs. The position is being recruited at the associate or full professor level within the Health Science, Clinical X, or In Residence series depending on qualifications. This individual will provide a strategic and operational plan that will lead to substantial growth of the colorectal programs and establish the program as the area leader for patients with both malignant and benign diseases of the colon and rectum. Responsibilities also include teaching and patient care; interest in clinical outcomes or translational research is encouraged. Qualified candidates must be board certified/eligible in colorectal surgery; have completed an approved colorectal fellowship; and have a CA Medical License before the start date. Preferred qualifications include prior experience in administration of clinical and educational programs, demonstrated leadership in colorectal cancer and/or IBD at the national level, expertise in minimally invasive surgery, and a strong interest in clinical education. The candidate must have the ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment. Salary and level of appointment will be based upon experience and qualifications.
