Position description
The Department Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at UC Davis School of Medicine is recruiting for a full-time (100% time) academic Physiatrist. The position will serve as a faculty member at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor track.
The UC Davis Department of PM&R Sports Medicine service is the premiere non-operative service provider in the greater Sacramento region and has clinics throughout the Sacramento region. Sacramento is an easily accessible, family-oriented city in close proximity to the San Francisco Bay area, Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada Mountains, the California coast, and Napa Valley.
Description
This position will provide outpatient sports medicine care at our main C Street clinic close to the UC Davis Health campus, and also serve in one of our satellite clinics in the surrounding Sacramento area. Clinical services may include up to one day per week of non-interventional spine care.
This position will provide both formal and didactic sessions and clinical supervision for students and house staff, as well as participate in departmental meetings, conferences, hospital and departmental committees.
Qualifications
- The candidate must possess an M.D. or D.O. degree
- Candidates must have the ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment and adhere to University policy and procedures.
- The candidate must have completed an approved Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency Program
- The candidate must be board certified or eligible in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
- The candidate must be eligible for licensure in the State of California and/or have an active California medical license prior to appointment start date.
- Subspecialty training in Sports Medicine is preferred
- Demonstrated teaching experience in an academic clinical setting is preferred
