Position description

The Department of Neurology, University of California, Davis, is seeking additional board eligible/certified neurologists for full time positions, emphasizing outpatient neurology and clinical education. General neurologists who have interests in or specialty training in the following areas are encouraged to apply:

  • cognitive
  • headache and facial pain
  • multiple sclerosis/neuroimmunology
  • spine and neuromuscular

The positions will be faculty in the UC Davis School of Medicine with offices and clinics located in Sacramento, California, and potentially with neighboring UCDHS satellite clinics.

Positions are available at the Assistant, Associate and Full Professor level, in the Health Science Clinical Professor or Clinical Neurology series. The ideal candidate will be required to engage in clinical care, clinical education, Teleneurology, translational or outcomes clinical research, (depending on appointment), and University/public service. The successful candidate must possess an MD degree, training/experience in neurology, possess a valid California Medical license or be eligible for licensure in the State of California. The level of appointment will be commensurate with credentials.

Qualifications include experience in clinical care in the areas of neurology, headache neurology, sleep neurology, neuromuscular neurology, cognitive neurology, MS or epilepsy. Subspecialty interests are welcome and may be integrated, yet are not mandatory. Experience in clinical teaching in neurology and, as applicable, specialty areas as stated above. Candidates should have experience with outpatient teleneurology and clinical research in neurology, as applicable to series. Candidates must be board certified/eligible in neurology or related subspecialties.

Responsibilities will include: teaching medical students and house staff, neurology clinical care, and may include research; the ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment and the ability to adhere to policies and procedures.
