Position description

The Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Rheumatology, Allergy & Clinical Immunology at the University of California, Davis, School of Medicine is recruiting for one full-time faculty in the Professor of Health Sciences Clinical Professor series at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor rank in Rheumatology. Faculty in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor series are expected to engage in teaching, professional competence, and activity, scholarly or creative activities and University/public service.

This position is primarily outpatient based, with some inpatient consult responsibilities and interact with the University Residency and Fellowship program. Work will primarily involve management of soft tissue rheumatism as well as autoimmune diseases,

Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
  • M.D. or Equivalent degree
  • Board certified or board eligible in Rheumatology
  • Eligible for medical licensure in the state of CA
  • Experience in the management of soft tissue rheumatism as well as autoimmune diseases, to provide excellent clinical care.
  • Be skilled in the use of biological therapy and the ACR Guidelines for their usage as well as an understanding of potential drug interactions.
  • Experience in or the ability to teach and supervise medical students, residents and fellows is required.
  • The ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment
Preferred qualifications (other preferred, but not required, qualifications for the position)
  • A strong background or clinical training in immunology is highly desirable.
