Duties and Responsibilities
Instruction of Viticultural Practices - VEN 101C - 3 units

General Information
The Department of Viticulture and Enology at the University of California, Davis, offers an undergraduate Bachelor of Science (B.S.) and Master of Science (M.S.) in viticulture and enology. Graduates of the program are among notable wine industry professionals in California and throughout the world. Viticultural Practices (VEN 101C) is a 3.0-unit course with lecture and field demonstration components. This course will be taught in-person on Mondays (lecture) and Tuesdays (field) in the Spring 2026 quarter between March 26, 2026 – June 11, 2026. A temporary lecturer will be selected to fill this specialized position based on their professional and academic expertise. It is expected the lecturer will be capable of teaching principles and practices of grapevine production, including vineyard establishment, vine training, trellising, canopy management practices, irrigation and water management, and methods of crop adjustment for improvement of fruit quality. The lecturer will be supported by a Teaching Assistant (TA) and departmental vineyard staff.

Salary and Appointment Level
Commensurate with experience and course assignment.
