Position description
The University of California, Davis Department of Radiology is recruiting for a full-time Molecular Imaging Scientist to complement our program in molecular imaging and imaging physics research and build bridges with our collaborators in the School of Medicine, the School of Engineering, and our sister University of California campuses. The appointment will be at the Assistant Professor rank in the In-Residence series (to be commensurate with experience and qualifications).
Faculty in the In-Residence series are expected to engage in teaching, independent research, and creative work, demonstrate professional competence and activity, and provide University and public service.
The successful candidate is expected to make a significant research impact in molecular imaging translational and basic science, molecular imaging physics/technology, and related research areas via their independent research program, contribute to facilitating cross-departmental and extramural research efforts in collaboration with other PhD and MD faculty and actively engage inthe teaching of residents, fellows, graduate students, and medical technologists. Areas of particular emphasis include in vivo molecular imaging of the human immune system in health, cancer, infection, and autoimmune diseases. Given the international profile of UC Davis in total-body PET imaging, the successful candidate will be expected to develop technical methodologies to advance the precision, accuracy, and applicability of this technology.
The successful candidate will participate in professional and healthcare conferences and in training programs to represent the interests of UC Davis Health and to advance Radiology’s molecular imaging strategies.

Qualifications
• Ph.D. in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or related field.
• 1-3 years of relevant research experience leading to grant applications and manuscript publications in high-quality peer-reviewed scientific journals
• Track record of scholarly activity encompassing molecular imaging techniques, quantitative image analysis, and applications in imaging the human immune system
• Demonstrated success in obtaining federal grant funding as Principal Investigator
• Evidence of collaborative scholarly activity demonstrated by grant funding as co- investigator or key personnel.
• Experience of multi-disciplinary science across a range of clinical and technical disciplines
• Evidence of creative activities and interest in image reconstruction, kinetic modeling, imaging physics and translational applications of molecular imaging
• Ability to work in a diverse environment
• Demonstrated independent research career trajectory
• Experience with extramural, multi-institutional and academic/industry research partnerships
