Position description

The Division of Nephrology, Department of Internal Medicine at the University of California, Davis School of Medicine is recruiting for two full-time faculty members in the Health Sciences Clinical (HSCP) series at the Assistant/Associate Rank. Faculty in the HSCP are expected to engage in teaching, demonstrate professional competence and activity, scholarly or creative work, and University and public service.

The selected candidates will care for ESRD patients at various dialysis clinics and a skilled-nursing facility, maintain a renal continuity clinic within the Health System, participate on the inpatient renal consultative teaching and non-teaching services, and participate on the inpatient renal consultative service at the rehabilitation hospital.

This recruitment is conducted at the assistant/associate rank. The resulting hire will be at the assistant/associate rank, regardless of the proposed appointee's qualifications.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
  • Candidates must possess an M.D. or D.O. degree
  • Must be eligible for licensure in the State of California
  • Candidates must also be ABIM Nephrology Board Certified or Nephrology Board Eligible -Teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level
  • Must have experience to foster collegial and collaborative relationships with other healthcare providers in an academic environment
Additional qualifications (required at time of start)
  • ACGME accredited fellowship in Nephrology or equivalent experience
