Position description

The University of California, Davis Department of Radiology is recruiting for a researcher with expertise in PET neuroimaging research and background in Neuropsychology for a full time faculty position at the Assistant rank in the In Residence or Clinical “X” series (commensurate with experience and qualifications).

Faculty in the In Residence series are expected to engage in teaching, independent research and creative work, demonstrate professional competence and activity, and provide University and public service.

Faculty in the Clinical “X” series are expected to engage in professional competence and activity, teaching, research and creative work, and University/public service.

The successful candidate is expected to make a significant research impact on the PET physics/technology and related research areas such as neuropsychological consequences of aging and associated diseases via their independent research program and contribute to facilitating cross-departmental research efforts in collaboration with other PhD and MD faculty. They will create and strengthen existing research collaborations between other departments and centers, including the Department of Neurology and Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (ADRC). The successful candidate will actively engage in teaching for residents, fellows, and graduate students and participate in departmental and institutional quality improvement and value initiatives. They will participate in professional and healthcare conferences and in training programs to represent the interests of UC Davis.

Given the required duties, this position will be nominated for a joint appointment with the Department of Neurology, where they will also be expected to provide clinical services in the Healthy Aging Clinic.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

• Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field
• Track record of conducting research in the field of positron emission tomography
• Evidence of scholarly activity demonstrated by publications in high-quality peer-reviewed scientific journals and presentations at national/international conferences
• Evidence or motivation to establish an independent research program focusing on MRI/PET methods and techniques
• Track record of extramural funding as Principal Investigator
