Position description

The Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of California, Davis School of Medicine is recruiting for a full-time faculty member in the Professor of Clinical X or Health Sciences Clinical Professor series at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor rank in electrophysiology. Faculty in the Clinical X series is expected to engage in professional competence and activity, teaching, research and creative work, and University/public service. Faculty in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor series are expected to engage in teaching, professional competence and activity, scholarly or creative activities, and University/public service.

Cardiovascular Medicine Faculty responsibilities include direct inpatient and outpatient clinical care; teaching medical students, residents, and fellows; university/public service; and regular attendance at scheduled meetings and CME activities. The incumbents should be able to provide expert clinical care in the field of electrophysiology cardiology. Training is required in the specific areas of lead extraction, advanced ablations, and device implantations. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a diverse group of cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, and nurse practitioners in one of the most highly regarded Cardiovascular Program in the United States.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

• Must have M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or D.O. or equivalent degree

Additional qualifications (required at time of start)

• Board certification/eligibility in Cardiovascular Medicine and Electrophysiology
• Medical licensure or eligible for licensure in the state of California
• ACGME accredited fellowship or equivalent experience
• Teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level
• Strong clinical skills and interest in Electrophysiology Cardiology
