Position description

The Department of Chicana/o/x Studies at the University of California at Davis welcomes applications for part-time lecturer positions in the 2024-2025 academic year. Actual appointment percentage is based on course enrollment and number of courses assigned. Courses to be offered include, but are not limited to, the following (please see https://catalog.ucdavis.edu/courses-subject-code/chi/ for course descriptions):

Fall quarter (Sept 23 – Dec 13, 2024)
CHI 23: Qualitative Research Methods
CHI 123: Psychological Perspectives of Children and Adolescents
CHI 130: United States – Mexican Border Relations
CHI 136: Critical Pedagogy
CHI 150: The Chicana/o Movement

Winter quarter (Jan 3 – Mar 21, 2025)
CHI 40: Comparative Health

Spring quarter (Mar 27 – Jun 12, 2025)
CHI 120: CHI Psychology
CHI 140A: Qualitative Methods: Chicano/Latino Health Research

An M.A. degree in the field or related fields and previous experience teaching at the college/university level are required; Ph.D. is preferred.

This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

MA in Chicana/o Studies or related field and previous experience teaching at the college/university level.

Preferred qualifications (other preferred, but not required, qualifications for the position)

Ph.D. in Chicana/o Studies or related field is preferred.
