Position description

The Middle East/South Asia Studies Program (ME/SA) seeks instructors for a lecturer position in Punjabi to teach Punjabi 3V, pending administrative approval and funding, for the academic year 2023-24. The position is available for the following quarter:
Spring Quarter 2024 March 28, 2024 – June 13, 2024
Course Day/Time
TR 4:10-5:30 online
Qualified Applicants:
*Must be native or near-native speaker of Punjabi
*Must be proficient in speaking, listening, reading, and writing in English
*Must be able to teach reading and writing in Punjabi in the Gurmukhi script
Preferred Qualifications:
*Experience as a teacher
*Experience using digital tools for teaching
*Ability to teach reading and writing in Punjabi in the Devanagari and/or Nastaʿliq script

Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

BA or BS degree is required. Demonstrated experience in teaching Punjabi is desirable.
