Position description

The Department of Radiology at the University of California, Davis School of Medicine is recruiting two full-time Interventional Radiologist for faculty positions at the level of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in the Clinical “X” Series and Health Sciences Clinical Professor (HSCP) Series.

Criteria for the Professor of Clinical "X" Series: The incumbent will be expected to conduct meaningful research; provide patient care; teach fellows, residents, and medical students; and perform public and University service. A strong interest in research is an essential criteria in this series.

Criteria for the Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series: The incumbent will be expected to teach fellows, residents, and medical students; provide patient care; contribute to scholarly activities; and provide public and University service. Excellent teaching is an essential criteria for appointment in this series.

UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento is a quaternary care, level 1 trauma center with a diverse patient population and clinical need. The candidate will have dedicated clinic time to evaluate and manage ambulatory patients in the Vascular Center, a collaborative working space with vascular surgery and vascular medicine. Faculty supervise residents in the direct IR/DR pathway, medical students, and a supportive PA/NP extender network. Faculty participate in the management of the inpatient consult service and actively participate in a variety of subspecialty multi-disciplinary tumor boards and conferences.

Interventional procedures are currently performed in the hospital utilizing Siemens imaging and a robust and diverse stock of interventional products. Construction for an ambulatory surgical and interventional center is underway with an anticipated completion date in 2025. Outpatient interventions will be performed in a state-of-the-art outpatient-based angiography lab.

The candidate may be given additional academic time should they hold extramural grant funding and/or administrative positions. Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

Possess an M.D., D.O., or equivalent degree
Have or be eligible for licensure in the State of California

Additional qualifications (required at time of start)

Be American Board of Radiology certified or eligible in Diagnostic Radiology and Vascular and Interventional Radiology (IR/DR Certification)
Have experience in providing patient care in all aspects of clinical service for interventional radiology, including vascular and non-vascular procedures, in both inpatient and outpatient settings
Experience with and ability to teach medical students, residents, and fellows
Experience with and interest in clinical research
Ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment

Preferred qualifications (other preferred, but not required, qualifications for the position)

Demonstrated administrative leadership experience to develop multi-disciplinary collaborations and affiliations with other practices and our community partners
Experience in collaborative and multi-disciplinary research
Candidates with over two years of clinical experience are preferred but not required.
