Position overview

Salary range: The salary range for this position is $150,000 to $275,000. This position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, which provides for eligibility for additional compensation. The salary range listed is for base compensation only and may be adjusted depending on qualifications and experience. The salary range does not include variable compensation and is subject to the individual department compensation plan.

Position description

The Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis seeks up to two tenured full-time faculty at the ladder rank of associate or full professor. We invite applications from scholars with research programs that intersect with the following focus areas:

• Promoting healthy aging and family caregiving with enabling technology, such as personalized digital health, smart home, and community-level technology interventions.
• Digital health equity and social justice research promoting access to technology and health promotion programs for diverse older adults and their caregivers.
• Healthy systems and enabling technology development including human-centered design and community engagement among older adults.
• Methodological expertise in development and co-validation of digital health devices, data integration and management methods, predictive analytics, and/or artificial intelligence to advance quality care for older adults and their caregivers.
• Research experience in areas that align with the Age-Friendly Health Systems initiative including shared decision-making, medication adherence, mobility, and cognition. Previous grant funded projects in an academic health system with clinical scientists with expertise in geriatrics, family nursing and medicine, psychology, psychiatry, neurology, and remote health care delivery.

Qualifications are as follows:

Basic Qualifications
A PhD or other doctorate (or equivalent international degree) plus teaching, mentoring and research experience is required at the time of application. At least one degree in nursing or nursing science.

Additional Qualifications

  1. A track-record of multidisciplinary collaboration with engineering and social science faculty, IT research infrastructure professionals and technology industry partners.
  2. Demonstrated ability to lead research teams, collaborate, mentor, and work in interdisciplinary environments.
  3. Evidence of previous extramural funding in the research priority areas.
  4. Evidence of a strong commitment to the advancement of diversity, equity and inclusion for historically underrepresented and marginalized communities is expected. Successful candidates identify how this commitment integrates with their teaching, research and service.
  5. Excellence in teaching that demonstrates potential or evidence of ability to develop graduate-level nursing courses for clinical and non-clinical programs, and to mentor doctoral nursing students.
  6. Excellence in service that demonstrates potential or evidence of participation and leadership at the university, local, state and national levels.

This full-time (FTE) appointment will be at the rank of associate or full professor. Participation in school, college and university service as a member of UC Davis Division of the Academic Senate is an expectation under our faculty shared governance model.
