Associate Vice Provost for Academic Programs
Position description
Global Affairs functions as an academic unit on behalf of the Offices of the Chancellor and the Provost, under the direction of the Vice Provost and Associate Chancellor (VPAC) for Global Affairs. The Associate Vice Provost for Academic Programs (AVP-AP) has primary responsibility for working with academic units, Academic Senate and Federation and providing a liaison to UC Davis faculty. AVP-AP oversees programs with strong connections to academic units. The AVP-AP oversees the international partnerships and agreements, international visitors program, the Asian international program, Confucius Institute and UC Davis Chile Life Sciences Innovation Center. The AVP-AP is responsible for increasing faculty engagement in international activities through various programs including seed grants, regional seed grants, faculty ambassador program and curriculum enhancement for global learning outcomes. In addition, the AVP-AP is expected to represent Global Affairs when the VPAC is not available. The AVP-AP is appointed to fill a 75%, three-year appointment.
