Description

The Department of Internal Medicine, at the University of California, Davis, School of Medicine, is recruiting for a full-time academic position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the In-Residence series in the Division of General Medicine. The successful candidate will be a clinician investigator committed to joining an outcomes research group that collaborates effectively to advance scholarship and practice related to women’s reproductive healthcare access, quality, costs, or delivery. Appointees to this series are required to participate in teaching, research, University/public service and patient care. The selected candidate will work closely with other faculty within the Division of General Medicine, across other divisions in the Department of Internal Medicine, and in related centers and schools, including the Center for Healthcare Policy and Research, the Clinical and Translational Sciences Center, and the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing. The candidate’s research focus may be in Women’s Health Services Research, Clinical Epidemiology, Comparative Effectiveness, or Outcomes Research. Clinical activities will include precepting in both inpatient and/or outpatient settings, where he/she will supervise and teach medical students and Internal Medicine residents.

Candidates must possess an MD degree plus an MPH, MS, or PhD in epidemiology, health services research, or one of the social sciences. Candidates must be eligible for licensure in the state of California and board certified or eligible, either in Internal Medicine or a related clinical field. Experience teaching medical students, residents and fellows is required. Evidence of success in obtaining grant funding is desirable. The ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse community is required.
