Description

Responsibilities:
The Pathway and English Programs Director is an academic appointee based in our Center for International and Access programs. Reporting to the Associate Dean of International and Access Programs, the director will be responsible for developing new business and programs, administering a portfolio of programs in the following areas: international pathway programs; Intensive English Program (IEP), short-term customized programs, and customized programs for international professionals, and has operational oversight of course management, programs, budgets, instructors and staff. The director will be responsible to establish productive partnerships to grow enrollments and revenue. Develop annual budgets and ensure successful financial performance for the portfolio. Establish individual course and program budgets each term in consultation with the Associate Dean. Analyze and monitor revenue, expenditures and budgets and make adjustments to achieve budgetary goals. The director is expected to perform independently at a high-level and is responsible for program innovation and academic quality. S/he will be responsible for developing new programs based on research on education trends, network with other education professionals, and maintain close relationships with campus departments and international partners. The director plans, develops, implements, and revises courses and curricula and leads instructors and administrative staff. The incumbent ensures high standards and administrative processes that support accreditation. The director cultivates new relationships with campus departments, universities, non- profits, and school districts in the US and abroad and recruits, evaluates, and renews qualified instructors. Work closely with colleagues and program coordinators in the implementation course offerings and in achieving programmatic goals. Collaborate with marketing and other directors on program promotions and materials development.

Minimum Qualifications: (must be attained at time of application)
Master’s degree
Five years' leadership experience in international education programs administration
Prior experience supervising and managing people in multicultural educational environments

Additional Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience in developing curricula for IEP and international education programs
Knowledge of adult learning principles, and experience applying those principles to the design of engaging learning experiences
Demonstrated skills in outreach, new business development, partnerships
Experience with budgeting and financial forecasting
Experience using quantitative and qualitative data to assess new opportunities

Preferred Qualifications:
Certificate in TESOL or TEFL
Demonstrated ability to achieve financial results in a highly competitive self-supporting environment
Demonstrated experience in program innovation, assessment, development, implementation and management
Teaching experience in continuing or higher education

Appointment/Compensation:
This is a full-time academic term appointment with an initial 1-year appointment, eligible for continued reappointment. Salary commensurate with experience. UC Davis Continuing and Professional Education is unable to sponsor a work visa (H-1B) to fill this position. Successful candidate must be able to demonstrate that they are legally authorized to work in the United States.
