Position description

The incumbent acting in this position will oversee and manage a specialized team in mental health services research, telepsychiatry and technology enabled health care. The incumbent will have significant responsibility to achieve broadly stated goals through subordinate professionals. Incumbent will determine objectives, direct programs, develop strategies and policies, manage human and physical resources, and function with a high degree of autonomy. This role will include proactively assessing programmatic outcomes in primary care behavioral health and physician wellness and determines strategies for program development. The incumbent will determine objectives; direct research programs, and develop strategies and policies while functioning with a high degree of autonomy. The incumbent will ensure supervisors, professionals and faculty adhere to research program procedures and research compliance. The incumbent will work across the University and with external institutions including the Veterans Administration to develop infrastructure for mental health services, and technology enabled care research.

The incumbent will develop and oversee his/her own independent, creative, and high quality research program and will have major responsibility and leadership for his/her programs. The appointee is expected to secure funding as a Principal Investigator, and as a co-PI collaborating with other independent investigators.

Qualified candidates must possess a Ph.D. in a health sciences specialty and have a minimum of 5 years of experience working on funded research projects in telemedicine or e-Health. The successful applicant will have a background in a clinical discipline such as psychology, medicine, nursing or social work. Candidates must have proficiency in conducting, designing and analyzing data from clinical trials and should have published papers on this area in the peer reviewed literature. Experience evaluating educational programs is also essential as is experience with using EPIC for clinical trials, and REDCAP for data entry and storage. The successful applicant will also be experienced in providing technical training for research staff in these areas.

This recruitment is conducted at the Assistant/Associate rank. The selected candidate will be hired at the Assistant/Associate rank, regardless of the proposed appointee's qualifications.
