Description

The University of California, Davis, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences is recruiting for an Associate Professor in Residence Neuroscientist with expertise in pediatric neuroimaging.

A full-time faculty position (In Residence Series) is available in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Associate Professor level for a mid-career neuroscientist with expertise in pediatric neuroimaging. The candidate must possess a Ph.D. in neuroscience. Formal training and/or demonstrated expertise in autism spectrum disorder and in imaging infants and toddlers is required. Preferred qualifications include experience with imaging challenging populations, such as individuals with intellectual disability. Strong applicants may also have demonstrated expertise linking neurobiological and behavioral phenotypes, experience with multiple imaging modalities (e.g., structural and diffusion-weighted imaging; resting state functional connectivity), and/or experience studying sex differences in ASD.

The individual selected for the position will be expected to build a successful, independent research program and demonstrate excellence in teaching and university service. Specific responsibilities include: 1) carrying out longitudinal neuroimaging studies in young children with autism spectrum disorder, 2) implementing multidisciplinary research by integrating imaging data with other behavioral and biological data, and 3) successfully competing for extramural funding to examine the neurobiology of neurodevelopmental disorders. Additional responsibilities include interdisciplinary collaborations with faculty from diverse backgrounds and participation in large-scale, team science initiatives.

This recruitment is conducted at the Associate rank. The selected candidate will be hired at the Associate rank, regardless of the proposed appointee's qualifications.
