Position description

The University of California Davis, College of Engineering, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering is recruiting for an internal full-time faculty member to serve as the holder of the Ray B. Krone Endowed Professorship in Environmental Engineering. The holder is expected to engage in teaching and scholarly activities focused in the area of environmental engineering; teach one to three courses per year in the undergraduate and graduate programs in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering; conduct research relevant to environmental engineering and perform service to the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering as well as the broader community in which it is situated; provide leadership in the area of environmental engineering; and enhance the academic and intellectual life of the department, college, and campus as a whole. The professorship usually will be held for a term not to exceed five years, and may be renewed.

Required candidate qualifications include: junior faculty of exception promise or senior faculty who are acknowledged leaders in the field of environmental engineering. The candidate must have an appointment in the UC Davis Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. The beneficiary of this Fund must have an established track record of original research publications in high-impact venues, and a record of principal investigator funded research, and teaching in the area of environmental engineering. Demonstrated leadership experience and abilities, and the ability to adhere to policies and procedures, as well as the ability to work cooperatively and collegially in a diverse environment is required.
