Health Sciences Assistant/Associate Clinical Professor – Adult Psychiatry Outpatient Clinic

The University of California, Davis, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences is recruiting for two Health Sciences Assistant/Associate Clinical Professors to serve as teaching attending physicians in its Adult Outpatient Clinic with a culturally diverse patient population. The applicant(s) will also be supervising general psychiatry residents with their adult cases, and both general and combined residents in IM/Psych FM/Psych. Time is allocated for didactic teaching, case conferences, and supervision. In addition, the applicant(s) will engage in scholarly or creative activities derived from and in support of their clinical teaching, professional and service activities. The candidates will also evaluate and treat their own patients.

Requirements for this position include an MD, board certification in general psychiatry, a California Medical license (or eligibility for licensure in the State of California) in addition to teaching and supervisory experience for residents, fellows, and medical students. Experience supervising child psychiatry residents/fellows, general psychiatry residents, and medical students is preferred. This recruitment is conducted at the assistant/associate rank in the health sciences clinical professor series, and the resulting hires will be at the assistant/associate rank in this series regardless of the proposed appointee's qualifications.

The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences has approximately 65 residents in six residency training programs and 90 faculty and staff psychiatrists and psychologists at the UC Davis Medical Center and the Northern California VA Health System. The Department provides a stimulating teaching and academic environment.

This position is open effective August 28, 2017 with an initial review date of December 1, 2017. The posting will remain open until June 30, 2018 or until filled.
