The School of Medicine (Department of Internal Medicine) and Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at the University of California, Davis seek applications for a full-time, Assistant/Associate/Full Professor in the Ladder Rank/Tenured Series or In Residence Series with a teaching, clinical, and research focus on transdisciplinary feminist approaches to women’s health. Candidates are required to have an MD, PhD, MD/PhD, or RN/PhD, and will be appointed in the School of Medicine or the School of Nursing or jointly between the two Schools.
We seek a dynamic and collaborative scholar who can potentially serve as faculty director of The Feminist Research Institute (FRI), a campus initiative that explores how gender and other structures of inequality inform the design, execution, and interpretation of research (http://fri.ucdavis.edu). Applicants must demonstrate exceptional promise as scholars in a context of interdisciplinary collaboration, a strong commitment to graduate and undergraduate teaching, and a strong commitment to departmental and university service, including active participation in the Feminist Research Institute.
UC Davis Health is located on a 140 acre campus in Sacramento, CA, home to the School of Medicine, the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing, and the UC Davis Medical Center. The campus includes a state of the art education complex, the Center for Health and Technology, the NIH-funded Clinical Translational Science Center, the Center for Reducing Health Disparities and the Latino Aging Research Resource Center, an NIA-funded Center for Minority Health Research. The Feminist Research Institute is located in Davis, CA, 11 miles to the west of Sacramento. FRI aggressively pursues external funding, hosts an annual research symposium, and funds faculty seed grants, working groups, and graduate summer fellowships. UC Davis supports multiple interdisciplinary centers which foster research in areas including transnational health, poverty, and sustainable agriculture.

The successful applicant is expected to:
Conduct significant, innovative, and high impact research in the area of women’s health.
Contribute to the development of FRI, including serving as director and/or a member of the Board of Directors, as appropriate
Engage in professional practice and/or service within UC Davis Health
Serve as a member of Nursing Science and Health Care Leadership Graduate Group
Applicants must demonstrate exceptional promise as scholars in a context of interdisciplinary collaboration, a strong commitment to graduate and undergraduate teaching, and a strong commitment to departmental and university service, including active participation in the Feminist Research Institute.
Postdoctoral training or equivalent academic experience preferred. Candidates should demonstrate a record of research in women’s health. A focus on the health of older women (e.g cardiovascular health or dementia) is preferred.
