Junior Research Specialist will work with Principle Investigator, collaborating on multiple research projects focused on environmental health, equity and social policy, directly engaging in publishable research activities. This collaboration will include analysis of spatial and census data, engagement in the design of research protocols for landscape surveys and analysis, and collection of survey data. Work will also include collaboration with gradate students and additional faculty. The Junior Research Specialist will have the opportunity to collaborate in the publication process through their own analysis work as well as synthesis of existing literature in the areas of environmental health, equity and social policy. The Junior Specialist will work with the PI to develop an individual professional competence and activity plan including identifying professional and educational activities as appropriate, these could include participation in scholarly conferences as a co-author or attendant, participation in on campus or regional research groups and convenings. The Junior Research Specialist will engage in service primarily through undergraduate mentorship, alongside potential opportunities for direct community engagement.

• Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture or Environmental Design, or a related field.
• Experience or strong interest in landscape architecture and environmental design
• Demonstrated ability to work well in collaboration with others, and to exhibit autonomy and independence in handling various problem solving and administrative tasks
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong organizational skills, and keen attention to detail
• Experience with data collection, entry, and management of large databases
SALARY RANGE: Step I - $18.26 per hour or Step II - $19.48 per hour, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
