The Department of Plant Sciences offers temporary Lecturer positions in the following major areas: International Ag Development and Plant Sciences. A list of courses that may be available during academic year 2017-18 are listed below. Included are area of degree and experience required to effectively teach these courses. Courses may be added or omitted from this list as the year progresses.
APPOINTMENT DATE: Assignments vary according to type of course and percentage of appointment. Service periods are:
Fall Quarter 2017: September 25, 2017 – December 15, 2017
Winter Quarter 2018: January 05, 2018 – March 23, 2018
Spring Quarter 2018: March 29, 2018 – June 14, 2017
RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach one or more undergraduate or graduate courses in IAD or PLS as well as graduate courses in IAD. Candidates may be asked to teach 1 to 2 courses for the year depending on programmatic need and candidate’s availability.
QUALIFICATIONS: Appropriate professional degree, e.g. doctorate or master’s degree (or 30 units of graduate coursework); demonstrated teaching ability; a developing record of scholarly or professional achievement in an area of expertise related to the subject area of the course.
GENERAL INFORMATION: Temporary lecturers are selected to fill specialized positions which require professional as well as academic expertise. Temporary lecturers may be selected to fill teaching needs occasioned by leave of regular faculty or to enhance and compliment the strengths of faculty teaching related courses. Therefore, in any given year, open positions and requirements for individuals to fill them will vary.
SALARY: Commensurate with experience and course load.

IAD 10, IAD 170, IAD 200N, IAD 202N, IAD 203N, IAD 290, PLS 021, PLS 2, PLS 116, BIT 171, and other courses as needed.
