Position description

The Department of Internal Medicine at the University of California, Davis School of Medicine is recruiting for one full-time position in the Clinical X or Health Sciences Clinical Series at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology to add to its current 16 full-time faculty and 2 nurse practitioners. Appointees to the Health Sciences Clinical series are required to participate in patient care, teaching and university service. Appointees in the Clinical X series are provided time for independent investigation with the expectation of demonstrable research productivity. The position will be primarily dedicated to providing outstanding general gastroenterology care and teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows. If appointed in the Clinical X series, the candidate will be expected to develop a focus of clinical/translational research in their area of interest. The final candidate will be expected to provide Gastroenterology consultation and endoscopy services at the UC Davis Medical Center and at satellite primary care network sites located in the greater Sacramento region.

Candidates must have expertise in general gastroenterology and diagnostic/therapeutic endoscopy. Demonstrated experience in clinical research is desirable. Candidates must possess an M.D. degree, be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology and have completed a three-year Gastroenterology fellowship training program. Candidates must be qualified for licensure within the State of California. Candidates must have the ability work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment.
