The Department of Neurobiology, Physiology and Behavior, in the College of Biological Sciences, University of California, Davis, invites applications for an Assistant Specialist position in the Nord Neurogenomics Lab. The Assistant Specialist will act as lab manager and experienced technician in the Nord Lab at the Center for Neuroscience. The appointee will be expected to have substantial prior experience in the areas of molecular genetics/genomics and neuroscience as well as in lab management. Candidates are especially encouraged to apply with previous experience in DNA cloning and preparation of plasmids/viral constructs, DNA delivery to cell lines and animal models, epigenetic and genomic assays, mouse husbandry, and management of a molecular biology lab (protocol development, safety and training, budget, SOPs, website and outreach management). Candidates should have previous experience and coursework training in genetics and epigenetics and neuroscience, as well as a history of contribution to science (e.g. peer-reviewed publications and presentations at major conferences), excellent oral, written and organizational skill and strong time management skills.
