The Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases at the University of California, Davis, School of Medicine, is currently recruiting for two full-time faculty position in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor series at the rank of Assistant Professor. Appointees to the Health Sciences Clinical series are required to teach, participate in university service and provide direct patient care and engage in creative work.
Applicants must have M.D. degree, be Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases, and be eligible for medical licensure in the State of California. Candidates must have experience in Antimicrobial Stewardship and Infection Prevention. Additionally, strong clinical skills in management of Infectious Diseases is preferred. Experience in or the ability to teach and supervise medical students, residents and fellows is required. The ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment is required. The focus of this position is to develop a Center of Excellence around Antimicrobial Stewardship and Infection Prevention.
Antimicrobial Stewardship – Involvement in management of outpatient IV antimicrobial use. Control and optimize in-patient antimicrobial use.
Participate in surveillance and evaluation of hospital associated infections.
Provide patient care for patients with Infectious Diseases.
