Position description

The Department of Neurology, University of California, Davis, School of Medicine, is seeking applicants for a full-time academic position as a General Clinical Neurologist in a rapidly growing mid-sized academic department. The position will include a faculty appointment in the UC Davis School of Medicine with offices located in Sacramento, California.

The position is at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor level in either the Clinical X or Health Sciences Clinical Professor series. Candidates must have the ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment and adhere to policies and procedures.

Responsibilities include engaging in clinical care, clinical education to medical students and house staff, teleneurology, clinical research (dependent on series) and university and public service. All outpatient services recently relocated to a state-of-the art outpatient Neurosciences Clinic in the heart of midtown Sacramento. Both adult and child neurologists engage daily in a collaborative physician work room that facilitates engagement with the department’s 12 subspecialties.

Candidates for the position must possess an MD or DO degree and be board certified/eligible in Neurology. A valid California medical license or eligibility for licensure in the State of California is required. Experience in and the ability to teach medical students, neurology and medical residents and fellows is required. Prior faculty experience is preferred. Subspecialty interests and participation in clinical trials and outcomes research are welcome but not required for this position.

The level of appointment will be commensurate with credentials.
