The Department of Neurology, University of California, Davis, School of Medicine, is seeking applicants for a full-time academic position as a Sleep Medicine Neurologist. The position will include a faculty appointment in the UC Davis School of Medicine Neurology Department with offices, located in Sacramento, California.

The position is at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor level in either the Health Sciences Clinical Professor or Clinical X series in its expanding sleep medicine program. Candidates for this position will participate in clinical care, teaching, university and public service. Candidates must have the ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment and adhere to policies and procedures.

The individual will be expected to provide clinical care in the outpatient clinics and outpatient laboratory. The UC Davis sleep lab recently relocated to a new state-of-the art outpatient facility specifically designed and integrated into an outpatient Neurosciences Clinic in the heart of midtown Sacramento. The sleep laboratory has six beds that are staffed 24 hours a day, seven days per week. The individual will act as a clinician-educator in Sleep Medicine and provide fellow, resident and medical student training including clinical teaching and presentations at regularly scheduled didactic sessions.

Candidates for the position must possess an MD or DO degree, be board certified/eligible in Sleep Medicine and board certified in either Neurology or Pulmonary Medicine. A valid California medical license or eligibility for licensure in the State of California is required. Experience in and the ability to teach medical students, neurology and medical residents and fellows is required. Prior faculty experience is preferred.

The level of appointment will be commensurate with credentials.
