Position description

The Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine, University of California, Davis, is recruiting for an Assistant Professor in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series. As a member of the Division of Pain Medicine, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing pain medicine services within the University of California Davis Medical Center. Responsibilities include patient care, assessing and treating patients of all ages who have acute, chronic, or cancer pain, performing interventional pain procedures, as well as clinical education of medical students, residents and fellows and participation in the pain medicine call schedule is required.

Qualified candidates must possess an MD degree, must be a board eligible or board certified pain specialist, completed an ACGME certified fellowship in pain medicine and be eligible for licensure in the state of California. Experience in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows as well as experience caring for patients with acute and chronic pain, patients with substantial medical co-morbidity, patients that require spinal intervention, intrathecal pump technology, cancer pain management and supportive oncology, or the care of patients with psychosocial aspects of pain management is preferred. Preferred candidates will have administrative leadership experience and demonstrate scholarly productivity. The ability to work cooperatively and collegiality within a diverse environment and collaboratively with interprofessional teams is required.

This recruitment is conducted at the assistant rank. The resulting hire will be at the assistant rank, regardless of the proposed appointee's qualifications.
