Position description

The University of California Davis, School of Medicine, Division of Nephrology is recruiting for a full-time position at the mid-Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level in the Professor (tenure-track)/Professor In Residence Series (50%/50%). The final candidate will serve as the holder of the Paul F. Gulyassy Endowed Professorship. Appointees to the Professor/Professor In Residence series are expected to conduct independent research, maintain a record of consistent funding, and significantly participate in teaching and University/public service. The Paul F. Gulyassy Endowed Professorship is focused on the support of research related to the diagnosis and treatment of kidney disease. A specific and proven expertise in research and teaching in the areas of nephrology, kidney diseases and/or renal physiology, as well as patient care/clinical nephrology activities will be required for this position.

Required candidate qualifications include: an M.D. or D.O. degree, board certification or eligibility in Nephrology, eligibility for medical licensure in the state of California, an established track record of original research publications in high-impact journals, and a record of principal investigator funded research, and a record of teaching and patient care in the area of renal diseases. Demonstrated leadership experience and abilities, and the ability to adhere to policies and procedures is required, as is the ability to work cooperatively and collegially in a diverse environment and adhere to policies and procedures.
