Position description

Rank/Series
Full-time, academic position is available at Full Professor, Associate Professor, or Assistant Professor.

Responsibilities
The UC Davis Department of Radiation Oncology is seeking an academically oriented Board certified/Board eligible radiation oncologist to focus on gynecological cancer. This individual should possess excellent clinical skills as well as training and expertise in HDR Brachytherapy, IMRT, and IGRT. The UC Davis NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center has recently completed significant reinvestments in radiation oncology and an adjacent new building in the center housing the multi-disciplinary clinics. Radiation Oncology is equipped with twined Elekta Agility linacs, TomoTherapy, GammaKnife Perfexion, Image-guided HDR Brachytherapy suite, Mosaiq EMR, Philips Pinnacle treatment planning, and is committed to providing the most advanced treatment delivery and image-guided technologies, including VMAT and 4D CBCT.

The department has recently designed and built a dedicated Image Guided Brachytherapy (IGBT) suite that serves as a dedicated special procedure room for all HDR and LDR procedures to be performed in one room in the department. UC Davis has joined with University of Wisconsin to be among the first to employ a large bore mobile CT scanner (Neurologica-Samsung BodyTom), and new imaging and procedures couches (Arcoma imaging and Diacor Zephyr patient transfer system). The IGBT suite has been designed for patients to benefit from a wide array of image guidance, high-resolution large screen monitors, Steris OR lights and boom accessories, and a host of ergonomic features to streamline the scan-plan-treat HDR process. This newly designed IGBT will be a substantial asset to our highly regarded brachytherapy programs that serve patients from Northern California and Nevada.

The Department of Radiation Oncology currently includes 6 Board Certified Radiation Oncologists, 6 Ph.D. Medical Physicists, and 5 Dosimetrists. The Department has ACGME and CAMPEP accredited residency training programs, and ACR accreditation.
