Position description

The Department of Surgery at the University of California, Davis, Health System located in Sacramento, California, seeks to hire a full time Academic Plastic Surgeon / Chief position at the associate or full professor level in the Clinical X or In-Residence Series. The Division of Plastic Surgery is a comprehensive academic program including a plastics residency, both basic and clinical research, an active clinical service, and affiliations with Shriners Hospital for Children as well as the Veterans Administration hospital in Sacramento.

The selected candidate will provide strategic and operational direction that will lead to growth of the educational, research and clinical missions of surgical programs at the Health System. Expected responsibilities include; teaching, clinical care, both inpatient and outpatient, and research relating to plastics, general and subspecialty surgical services. This position will work collaboratively and integrate with our strong community partners.

Qualified candidates should possess a Medical Degree and have an excellent academic background; be board certified by the Board of Plastic Surgery in plastic surgery and any subspecialty surgical services. Candidates should be able to show a history of leadership and administration experience relating to clinical and educational programs as well as successful research activities, and a California Medical License before the start date. All candidates must have the ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment. Salary and level of appointment will be based upon experience and qualifications.
