DIRECTOR OF SPONSORED PROGRAMS AND SPECIAL PROJECTS
Position description
Global Affairs functions as an academic unit on behalf of the Offices of the Chancellor and the Provost, under the direction of the Vice Provost and Associate Chancellor for Global Affairs. Director of Sponsored Programs & Special Projects, reporting to the Associate Vice Provost for Global Education and Services, Global Affairs, is responsible for the management of all sponsored programs and development of special projects that support the AVPGE&S in the implementation of programs that promote programmatic connections among and between the reporting units and other global education programs. The director will oversee all aspects of the sponsored programs in the portfolio, including the Humbert H. Humphrey Program, Mandela Scholars and incoming Fulbright Scholars, including the proposal process, budgeting, financial projections, promotion, publicity, and program development. The director will promote collaboration between the sponsored programs and other units in the GA portfolio and seek linkages with other campus units and the community to obtain the maximum benefit of the presence of the fellows and scholars on campus. The director will identify and develop proposals to bring new sponsored programs into the Global Affairs portfolio and to the campus.
