Position description

The Kinsella Chair will support research and teaching, focusing on the interrelationships among food, nutrition, and health. It will further strengthen the internationally recognized research activities of the college and enhance interdisciplinary cooperation across departments. The endowed chair will recognize an outstanding UC Davis faculty member during his/her mid-career stage (Associate Professor II to Professor IV) with demonstrated scientific achievement. The term of the appointment is up to five years, and is not renewable.

The Endowed Chair holder should be a member of the UC Davis faculty holding a tenured appointment in the mid-career range (Associate Professor II to Professor IV). The successful candidate will show evidence of strong research skills and innovative approaches to scientific inquiry, and the ability to create or enhance interdisciplinary cooperation across departments. Research should include a specific scientific focus on the interrelationships among food, nutrition, and health. Candidates should have a demonstrated ability to conduct scholarly research resulting in high quality publications, and should also show evidence of a strong teaching program at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.
