Hematology/Oncology Health Sciences Assistant/Associate Clinical Professor - Anticoagulation & Thrombosis
Position description
The Division of Hematology Oncology, Department of Internal Medicine, at the University of California, Davis, School of Medicine, is seeking applicants for one full-time academic position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor (HSCP) series. Responsibilities include direct inpatient and outpatient clinical care; teaching medical students, residents, and fellows; and university/ public service. Appointees will focus on clinical care on inpatient consultation, especially in anticoagulation and thrombosis. The incumbent will spend the majority of effort providing inpatient consultation to other medical and surgical services. There will be a smaller outpatient effort. Teaching is required and will include supervision of medical students, residents and fellows in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The appointee will join a strong clinical and translational academic program within the NCI-designated UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center which includes phase I-III clinical trials, investigator initiated studies, as well as ongoing interactions with other cancer specialists.
Candidates must possess an M.D. degree and be board certified or eligible by the ABIM in Internal Medicine and hematology and/or medical oncology and be eligible for licensure in the state of California. Experience in and the ability to teach medical students, residents, and fellows as well as experience caring for hematology/medical oncology patients is required. The ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment is required.
