Position description

The Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine, University of California, Davis, is recruiting for an Associate or Full Professor in the Clinical_ Series. As a member of the Division of Pain Medicine, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing pain medicine services within the University of California Davis Medical Center. Responsibilities include patient care, assessing and treating patients of all ages who have acute and chronic pain with a focus on behavioral health and the psychiatric management of patients, performing interventional pain procedures, as well as clinical education of medical students, residents and fellows and participation in the pain medicine call schedule is required. Additionally, this position will be appointed as the Director of Behavioral and Psychiatric Pain Medicine in the Division of Pain Medicine and will have administrative expectations.

Qualified candidates must possess an MD or DO degree, must be board certified in psychiatry, board certification in both psychiatry and internal medicine is preferred, fellowship trained or have equivalent experience, be eligible for licensure in the state of California. A strong record of experience in teaching and educational programming for medical students, residents, and fellows, including interdisciplinary and interprofessional training programs, is required. Experience with assessing behavioral health and the psychiatric management of patients in pain are required. In addition, the candidate must have the ability and experience to conduct scholarly/clinical/translational research. Administrative leadership experience is required as is the ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment and collaboratively with interprofessional teams.
