Position description

The Department of Radiology at the University of California, Davis is recruiting for a full-time, ABR certified or eligible fellowship trained Abdominal Imaging Radiologist at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor (academic rank will be determined based on qualifications). Qualified candidates must possess an M.D. or D.O. degree, fellowship trained in Abdominal Radiology, eligible for licensure in the State of California, and certified in Diagnostic Radiology by the American Board of Radiology. This position involves participation in patient care, education and research. The selected candidate should have a background in teaching and research that would qualify him/her for an academic appointment at the level of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor.
The applicant is expected to have proficiency in all aspects of abdominal imaging including MR, CT, Ultrasound, and Fluoroscopic studies. Expertise in CT and Ultrasound-guided interventional procedures (biopsy, drainage and ablations) is preferred. Experience in, ability to teach and supervise medical students, residents and fellows is required. Experience in caring for Abdominal Radiology patients is required. The ability, interest, and experience to conduct scholarly/clinical/translational research is highly desirable. Ability or interest in Thoracic imaging is also preferred.
The Abdominal Imaging Division has 10 faculty members and 3 fellows and the radiology department has 28 residents. The Department is a national leader in advanced diagnostic imaging including Prostate MR, MR and Ultrasound Elastography, CT Colonography, CT dose optimization and High risk Obstetric Ultrasound. The Radiology Department at UC Davis Medical Center is a world-class facility and has seven clinical MR scanners, six CT scanners, two PET-CT scanners and 17 Ultrasound units (including one research unit). In addition, there are two research MR scanners in the Imaging Research Center. UCDMC has a full-integrated electronic medical records system (Epic), enterprise wide PACS, and strong clinical departments.
