Junior Specialist - LGBTQI Health and Academic Personnel Actions *LIMITED APPOINTMENT*
Position description
The Office of Academic Personnel and the Department of Family and Community Medicine are recruiting for a Junior Specialist who will be responsible for work related to LGBTQI health and academic personnel actions. This is a limited appointment, the funding and appointment for this position will end on June 30, 2016.
The ideal candidate will be an energetic writer with an understanding of LGBTQI health disparities, with academic publications in this area, and the process of seeking grants from community agencies, foundations and federal funding agencies; an understanding of the process and ability to assess and write evaluations of the performance of academic faculty across a variety of disciplines contributing to basic and applied science related to medicine and health care.
Candidate must possess a B.A.; have experience in searching psychosocial and medical literature around LGBTQI health disparities and their amelioration; have ability to be an team player who is comfortable presenting own opinions and presenting to public groups on matters related to this position; must have schedule flexibility to work outside usual M-F, 8AM - 5PM hours when required for assignments. Experience and understanding of the University policies regarding academic actions and ability to assess and write evaluations of the performance is preferred.
