Position description

Assistant Professor (Tenure Track), Media Convergence and Integration. We seek an individual whose primary research interests are concerned with the processes, uses, and effects of the intersection and integration of communication media technologies. The ideal scholar will apply social scientific methods in investigating how information and communication technologies (ICTs) shape how people engage in processes and pursue goals that have traditionally been met through traditional mass and interpersonal communication media. The applicant’s research program must be consistent with the Department’s quantitative behavior science orientation and affiliation with the Division of Social Sciences. A doctorate degree is required. Demonstrated research and teaching competence are required. Applicants must have the potential to secure significant external funding; obtaining such funding is a Department requirement for tenure. This position is subject to final administrative approval. Position to begin July 1, 2016.
