Helen Marian Bart Endowed Professor in Burn Care
Position description
The Department of Surgery at the University of California, Davis; School of Medicine seeks to recruit and fill the Helen Marian Bart Endowed Professorship in Burn Care. This is an internal recruitment. The selected candidate must currently hold an active academic appointment at the Associate Professor level or higher in the Clinical X or In Residence series at the UC Davis, School of Medicine. The candidate must specialize in the area of burn surgery and be a nationally recognized distinguished scholar.
The holder of the Helen Marian Bart Endowed Professorship in Burn Care will be required to:
- Engage in teaching and scholarly activities focused in the area of burn surgery
- Conduct research on the nature and management of burn injuries and perform service to the Department of Surgery and broader community in which it is situated
- Provide leadership in the area of burn care and be fully engaged in activities in the Department of Surgery
- Enhance the academic and intellectual life of the campus as a whole
Candidates must be able to demonstrate evidence of successfully meeting all of the above requirements. Candidates must also possess an M.D. Board certified candidates are required to obtain a California Medical License before the appointment start date and will be expected to participate in clinical care, teaching, research and university service depending on academic series. All candidates must have the ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment. Salary and level of appointment will be based upon experience and qualifications.
