The University of California, Davis, School of Medicine is recruiting for a full-time academic position at the Assistant Professor level in the Clinical X series in the Division of General Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine. Appointees to the Clinical X series are required to participate in teaching, university/public service, patient care services, and creative work that can include bench, clinical, or translational research. This position will serve as the Associate Director of the Center for Reducing Health Disparities.

Candidates must possess an M.D. degree and be board certified/eligible in Internal Medicine. Candidates must be eligible for licensure in the State of California. The Division wishes to recruit an individual with a track record of excellence in clinical care beyond residency, experience in clinical teaching of medical students and residents, and a strong commitment to research as evidenced by presentations at national meetings and peer reviewed publications. Research fellowship training focused on health disparities or community-based participatory research and Master’s level preparation in clinical/translational research, public health, health administration, or management are preferred. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated interests in healthcare workforce planning and development as related to health disparities. Successful candidates should have experience in providing patient care to diverse populations including minorities and immigrants. The ability and interest to teach medical students, residents, and fellows is required. The ability to foster collegiality and collaboration in a diverse academic environment is required.
