Position description

The Department of Plant Sciences in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences at the University of California Davis invites applications for a 9-month tenure-track faculty appointment at the Assistant/Associate Professor level in Postharvest Biology. We seek candidates with a strong background in physiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, genomics, metabolomics and systems biology or any related combination of approaches to analyze the biology of harvested horticultural crops through the postharvest chain including harvest handling, packaging, storage and transportation. The successful candidate will have a PhD in a related discipline. The candidate will teach at the graduate level within her/his area of research expertise in the Horticulture and Agronomy, Plant Biology, Integrative Genetics and Genomics, International Agricultural Development and/or Food Science and technology Graduate Groups. This position will include an appointment in the Agricultural Experiment Station, which includes the responsibility to conduct research and outreach relevant to the mission of the California Agricultural Experiment Station.
