Professor of Biostatistics -Assistant/Associate/Full
The University of California, Davis, School of Medicine, Department of Public Health Sciences is seeking to fill one Assistant/Associate or Full Professor full-time position in the Adjunct series.
The appointee chosen for this position will be responsible for independent research, collaborative research, teaching, mentoring, and service. The fields of specialization are open, but particular consideration will be given to candidates with experience and/or interests in biostatistical methods related to collaborative biomedical research, especially in the context of Alzheimer’s disease, neurodegenerative disease, vascular disease, and other chronic diseases and with focus in one or more of the following areas:
• Longitudinal data analysis
• Clinical trials
• Survival Analysis
• High-throughput -omics data analysis
• RNASeq data analysis
• Multimodal data analysis
• Machine Learning methods
• Database management for large scale collaborative research

The Department of Public Health Sciences is a major research and teaching department in the School of Medicine, with thirty-three full-time faculty members. Areas of active research in the Department include occupational/environmental health, cancer, health disparities, reproductive and women’s health, aging, nutrition, infectious and pulmonary disease, and injuries/accidents, as well as biostatistical methods related to these areas. Biostatistics Division faculty have active collaborations both within the department and with faculty in many other departments and centers, including the UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center, the MIND Institute, the Environmental Health Sciences Center, and the Alzheimer's Disease Center.
Qualifications
Applicants must possess a doctoral degree (PhD or ScD) in biostatistics or statistics, or the equivalent and have experience in teaching biostatistics or statistics to non-specialist audiences.
An established record of collaborative and independent methodological research is required, including recent peer-reviewed publications and demonstrated experience with the design, analysis, and reporting of epidemiologic and/or medical studies.
Candidates must have the ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment.
Experience in obtaining grant funding is strongly preferred.
Preference will be given to candidates with strong written and verbal communication abilities.
