Position overview

Salary range: INTERNAL RECRUITMENT TO UC DAVIS ONLY. The Gerald T. and Lillian P. Orlob Endowed Professorship in Water Resources Engineering provides additional funding to a current UC Davis academic appointee in the ladder rank series specializing in water resources engineering. The additional funding may support the endowed chair holder's efforts in research, teaching and service and further the mission of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and the campus directly related to the purpose of the endowment.

Position description

INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY:

The University of California Davis, School of Engineering, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering is recruiting for an internal full-time faculty member to serve as the holder of the Gerald T. and Lillian P. Orlob Endowed Professorship in Water Resources Engineering. The holder is expected to engage in teaching and scholarly activities focused in the area of water resources engineering; teach one to three courses per year in the undergraduate and graduate programs in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering; conduct research relevant to water resources engineering and perform service to the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering as well as the broader community in which it is situated; provide leadership in the area of water resources engineering; and enhance the academic and intellectual life of the department, college, and campus as a whole. The professorship usually will be held for a term not to exceed five years, and may be renewed.

Required candidate qualifications include: an existing faculty appointment in the UC Davis Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, an established track record of original research publications in high-impact venues, and a record of principal investigator funded research, and teaching in the area of water resources engineering. Demonstrated leadership experience and abilities, and the ability to adhere to policies and procedures, as well as the ability to work cooperatively and collegially in a diverse environment is required.
