Position description
The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at UC Davis School of Medicine is recruiting for a highly qualified accredited Community Clinic Orthopaedist to provide patient care in the UC Davis Health Community Clinics supporting the Sacramento region. The position will serve in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor series at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank to commensurate with experience and qualifications.
The UC Davis Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is the premier surgical service provider in the greater Sacramento region and beyond and is based on the UC Davis Health campus in Sacramento, California. Sacramento is an easily accessible, family-oriented city in close proximity to the San Francisco Bay area, Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada Mountains, the California coast, and Napa Valley.
REQUIREMENTS
This position will provide inpatient and outpatient care at UC Davis Health. This position will also include the teaching and supervision of fellows, residents, and medical students, as well as participate in departmental meetings, conferences, hospital and departmental committees.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
The candidate must possess an M.D. (or equivalent), have completed an approved Orthopaedic Surgery residency program, and be board certified or eligible in Orthopaedic Surgery. The candidate must be eligible for licensure in the State of California and/or have an active California medical license prior to appointment start date. Must have experience in and the ability to teach medical students, residents, and fellows. Candidates must have the ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment and adhere to University policy and procedures. Demonstrated teaching experience in an academic clinical setting is preferred. Faculty in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor series are expected to engage in teaching, scholarly or creative work and University and public service, as well as demonstrate professional competence and activity.
