Salary range: The salary range for this position is $215,000-$350,000. This position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan.

Position description

The Department of Neurology at the University of California, Davis, School of Medicine is recruiting two outstanding neuromuscular neurologists to join an established neuromuscular group. These full-time positions are offered in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor (HSCP) series or Clinical Neurology series at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank commensurate with experience.

The UC Davis Department of Neurology and UC Davis Health teaching hospital are nationally ranked in US News & World Report. The department has a Clinical Neurophysiology Fellowship - EMG track, accredited by the ACGME. We are linked to five neuroscience research centers. The UC Davis clinical electrophysiology lab is located in a state-of-the art outpatient facility specifically designed and integrated into an outpatient Neurosciences Clinic in the heart of midtown Sacramento. The lab accommodates EMG and EEG studies during clinic hours and Sleep studies during the night and weekends.

Faculty members will provide inpatient and outpatient clinical care; teach medical students, residents and fellows; and provide university/public service. For the HSCP series, an emphasis is placed on clinical service and clinical teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows. For the Clinical X series, the position requires participation in clinical trials, translational research, and collaborative research.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

The successful candidate must possess an MD/DO degree and possess a valid California Medical license or be eligible for licensure in the State of California. The ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment is required.

For the Clinical X series, the ability and experience to conduct scholarly/clinical/translational research and a record of publications in peer reviewed journals is required.

Additional qualifications (required at time of start)

Applicants should have completed a post-Neurology fellowship in neuromuscular neurology and be board-certified/eligible in Neurology (ABPN) on or before their start date.

Preferred qualifications (other preferred, but not required, qualifications for the position)

Additional training or experience in Electrodiagnostic medicine and electromyography. Interest in clinical or translational neurology.

For the Clinical X and In-Residence series, evidence of success in obtaining extramural funding and/or administering clinical trials.
