Salary range: The salary range for this position is $200,000-$240,000. This position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation plan.

Position description

The Department of Internal Medicine at the UC Davis School of Medicine is recruiting for one full-time academic Geriatrician position at the Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor level in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor series. The successful candidate will serve as a Geriatrician and Clinician-Educator based in the Division of General Internal Medicine. The position includes 80% time delivering direct care to geriatric patients in the UC Davis Health Network, which will include rotating medical students and residents; and 20% time for doing additional teaching and developing curriculum and educational outreach programs for UC Davis Health providers and staff. Inpatient attending work with residents and students on the general medical consult service or inpatient medicine ward services at the UC Davis Medical Center are also possible. This position will have you work in a cooperatively and collegially diverse team environment.

This geriatrics position is part of the expansion of geriatric care at UC Davis Health. As such, the successful candidate will participate in the development and delivery of this growth effort.

Appointees to the Health Sciences Clinical series are required to participate in patient care activities and University service, teach medical students and residents, and participate in scholarly or creative work. Academic rank is commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
  • Qualifications include an MD or DO degree,
  • Must possess outstanding clinical and communication skills
  • Candidates must possess a strong interest in graduate and undergraduate medical education and teaching
Additional qualifications (required at time of start)
  • Board Certification in Internal Medicine and/or Geriatric Medicine
  • Certification to work in the state of California
