Salary range: The salary range for this position is Assistant $304,673-$414,009, Associate Professor $427,695-$620,763 and Full Professor $430,000-$759,070. This position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan

Position description

The Department of Surgery at the University of California, Davis Health, located in Sacramento, California, seeks to hire a full-time Transplant Surgeon at the assistant, associate or full professor level in the Health Science Clinical Professor, Clinical X or In-Residence series; dependent upon experience and qualification. Expectations of a Clinical X and In-Residence series is to engage in teaching, research, service and clinical work, while expectations of faculty in the HSCP series are primarily clinical and include teaching, service and scholarly and/or creative activities.

The selected candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience in adult and pediatric liver transplantation. Experience in live donor liver transplantation including donor hepatectomy and recipient implantation is desirable. The candidate will also participate in hepatobiliary surgery and deceased donor procurement. The selected individual will be expected to participate in clinical care, teaching, research, and university service dependent on the chosen academic series.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

• Must possess a Medical Degree, be board eligible or certified in surgery
• Be fully trained in an American Society of Transplant Surgeons (ASTS) accredited fellowship program
• Ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment

Additional qualifications (required at time of start)

• Must acquire a CA Medical License before the appointment start date
• Must have a minimum of 5 years experience in adult and pediatric liver transplantation

Preferred qualifications (other preferred, but not required, qualifications for the position)

• Experience in live donor liver transplantation including donor hepatectomy and recipient implantation
